With Milan fashion week just under our noses, an increasingly amount of beautiful collections have been sprouting like weeds! I have been eyeing the Spring Couture 2012 collections recently (you know, the likes of Chanel, Dior, Gaultier and Valentino) and the one that stood out to me the greatest....the complete blue-ness of Chanel. Bedazzled in all sorts of areas, 150+ lovely shades of light and dark blues mixed together to create a very lady-like, classy flight-attendant mature women from Panam. With the entire collection starting off with basic blues cut in daring and unique shapes, it's already easy enough to find a commonality in the expanded necklines whether it be through design or construction. The classic Chanel coat design with the lines and pockets is still everpresent throughout the collection, truly bringing the elegance of Chanel to the runway. As the collection moves on, sequins and bedazzlements appear with large billowing sleeves. Coats got longer and sooner or later, there was a 1920's flapper dress feel. Karl played a lot with sheer blues which greatly worked with the setting of the runway show. Towards the end, the glittery fabrics went to the extremes and to have witnessed these in person would have been the experience of a lifetime. The modern, futuristic change in the construction and off the shoulder cuts towards the end really brought the entire collection together. Karl Lagerfeld is such a genius, sheesh.
For the time being, I'll let my rambling finish and let you feast your eyes out! On a side note: Style.com does not seem to have detailed photos of the pantyhose or jewelry but I will be on the hunt for more pictures to share!
What do you think of the collection?
